Check the latest update

Open the job to review the accepted quote, current repair status, and conversation with your mechanic. Start there rather than relying on an earlier notification that may no longer describe the work.

The status reflects updates entered in the app. If it leaves a practical question unanswered, ask the mechanic directly: has inspection happened, is a part still outstanding, or has the completion estimate changed?

Understand the finding before the decision

An inspection can reveal a different cause or more work than the request first suggested. Ask what the mechanic found, how it relates to your concern, and what they recommend.

Then establish the effect on the work, cost, and estimated completion. Those details tell you what decision is being asked of you. A recommendation should not be mistaken for an agreement.

Make your response clear

Keep important explanations, relevant attachments, and your response in the job conversation. If you need more information, say which point is still unclear.

Mention practical constraints, such as arranging transport or needing the car for work. They help explain why an update matters, even when the mechanic cannot yet give a firm completion time.

Prepare for the handoff

When the mechanic records completion, read the account of the work and confirm the handoff arrangements. Check payment information and any support notices separately; a repair marked complete may still have an action that needs your attention.

If the result differs from the agreed work, explain the specific concern promptly through the available conversation, support, or dispute options. Refer to the quote and what you observed so the mechanic or support team can understand the issue.
